The Fishmarket is Northampton's
newest cultural and arts entertainment venue, with a mix of colour,
style and art the venue has been transformed since its restoration from
the old market as people knew it to this brilliant stylish arts gallery
and events forum. Since its opening at the
beginning of April the venue is now transformed to serve entertainment
and establish itself as a rest place for somewhere to drink coffee
whilst taking in the artistic creation around.
The display
that opened it featured an art gallery competition with James Jessop a young artist
against Harry Pye and established curator and artist. The Fishmarket itself will serve
as a venue to coincide with the events over the carnival weekend
offering its services for pre and post carnival entertainment as a rest
place for local residents and visitors to the town whilst showcasing its
own grandeur and arts style.
The Northampton Carnival Arts
Consortium will be using the venue as a costume making and workshop
facility prior to the event in the week before the carnival weekend. The
Cafe inside the Fishmarket will also be open to serve and accommodate
anyone too.
The Fishmarket will served
to host the Carnival Queen show on Saturday, May 26th 2007, the night
brought music and style to an evening that focused on choosing our
carnival queen, prince, princess and cultural queen . So all of you who haven't
visited the Fishmarket come along and support the arts venue that bring a fresh of air to the town
that venue that is...the new Fishmarket.
