Northampton Carnival Features Page ... On Saturday May 26th, the town centre hosted this years Carnival Queen show at Northampton's newest arts venue the Fishmarket. Many were in attendance to see this years Carnival Cultural Queen, Prince, & Princess crowned at this new stylish venue of entertainment and culture.The nights entertainment was provided by Mark Dean with Inspiration FM, The NACO Steel Pan group, Streets Ahead Dance Group, Indian Dancing from Karishma, A spectacular drumming performance from San Deep and the royalty presentations themselves. The night was full of culture and music with great food put on by Emerald Heights which supplied a wide range of tastes and smells. Many people came along to witness the presentation of this years Carnival Royalty alongside the great sounds echoing round the Fishmarket. The winning Carnival Prince was Zeerak Janjua - who was dressed in traditional Pakistani male black suit. The Winning Princess was Ghazal Janjua who was also dressed in original Pakistani national colourful costume. This years winning Cultural Queen was announced as Davica Cabey - Hailing from Montserrat in the Caribbean she was wearing traditional Island colours and proudly displayed them to the crowd watching. NCAC would like to take this opportunity to thank; The Fishmarket and their staff, San Deep & friends, The NACO steel pan group with Cliff, Karishma & Rita, Streets Ahead (Kiana, Janna, Chloe, Kirsty, Lucy, Steff, & Vicky), Streets Ahead choreographer Laura, Emerald Heights, Inspiration FM, and all of the people for coming to support the event.
