Northampton Carnival Features Page ...
On Saturday, 7th June 2008 communities came together to support this years annual carnival queen contest at Royal & Derngate Theatres, Guildhall Road Northampton. The night was filled with culture, music and celebration as this year entrants for the catergories of culture queen, prince and princess were displayed to the crowd.
The event was hosted by Mark Dean of Inspiration FM radio station and music was provided by Michael Hinch, Lauren Luke and Royal & Derngate Community Choir. There was belly dancing, street dancing and story telling from our own Myrle Roach. The crowd enjoyed the night and it all seemed to go ok. The music got the crowd clapping on their feet as everyone got into the night's spirit. Click on the pictures to see a larger image.
