Carnival 2010 Gallery

This years event took place on Saturday, 12th June 2010, it featured many artists on stage like Exodus, Shiney Boy, Dance Vybez, C-Block & S-clusive dance. The parade itself featured groups from Luton, Leicester, Notting Hill & Bedford joining in with local schools such as Northgate and Cedar Road. The weather was hot and good crowd lined the route around town from Delapre park to Abington Street and then St Giles Street down to cattlemarket.

The amazing costumes of Notting Hill's Mahogany group wowed the crowds yet again with swans, dragons and mythical beasts. Amazing white and black costumes were paraded by Utopia Mas from Bedford. There was much to do in the park with a funfair and many traders scattered around to see in and do whist soaking in the atmosphere of the Northampton Carnival.

This years charities did well with The hope centre rasing £312.00 along the route along with KEECH hospice £150.00 and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance raising £426.00 for charity.

Winners & runners up in this years parade were:

Best Live Musical Entertainers - 1st - Sikh Community Centre, 2nd - Musik City and 3rd - Abbey Primary School
Best Majorettes - 1st - Vipers Cheerleaders, 2nd - Delapre Majorettes, 3rd - Global Twirlers
Best Float Design - 1st - Top Hat Theatre School, 2nd - Bridgewater Primary School, 3rd - St James Primary School and Northgate School
Best Troupe - 1st Northampton meets Mahogany, 2nd - Wellingborough African Caribbean Association, 3rd - Cedar Road Primary School
Best Visiting Troupe - 1st - Utopia Mas (Bedford), 2nd - Bumpa Crew (Leicester), 3rd - St Kitts/Nevis,
Special Awards - Thorplands Primary School and Far Cotton Locco Club
